Release Notes
What changed in each version of SideGlass, newest first.
SideGlass 1.2
New
- Localhost (Pro): A new module lists every server running on your Mac, such as “npm run dev”, Vite, Next.js, Django or Rails. Restart, stop and start again with a click; a restart runs the original command in the same folder. A click on a server shows its network address, folder, Git branch, command, memory and CPU.
- Add reminders: Write new reminders right in the card. Phrases like “tomorrow 9am” or “Friday” become the due date; without one, the reminder is due today.
- Straight to the app: A small link at the bottom of the cards opens the matching app, such as Calendar, Reminders, Contacts or Weather. Turn it off under Settings › Appearance.
- Over full-screen apps: If you like, SideGlass stays visible over apps in full screen.
- A colour for today: In the month calendar, today's circle and weekday take a colour of their own.
Improved
- Liquid Glass: The tint's strength is adjustable, and next to the swatches a colour picker offers any colour.
- Week numbers: A fine line separates the week numbers from the days, and can be turned off. In English they now read “CW”.
- Lists: With a tall rail, Todoist, Contacts and Calendar use the card's full height.
Fixed
- Liquid Glass: The glass is clear right away instead of milky until the first click.
- Apple Music: Clicking a track under Up Next plays it.
- Shelf: The drop area fills the whole card, even with many modules in the rail.
- Assistant: The trash button in the history no longer disappears under the pointer.
SideGlass 1.1
New
- Liquid Glass: Under Settings › Appearance › Glass you now choose the material. Liquid Glass is the Dock's glass (macOS 26 and later), in a regular or clear style and with an optional tint. Frosted glass keeps its five strengths.
- Spotify in Basic: Spotify is now part of Basic, right next to Apple Music.
- Colours in the month calendar: The weekend sits as a coloured band behind Saturday and Sunday. Week numbers, weekdays and dates each take a colour of their own.
Improved
- Calendar: Week numbers keep some distance from Monday and line up with the dates. The card grows to at most 70 % of the screen's height; beyond that, the events scroll.
- Contacts: The card opens faster, with the pictures already loaded.
- Colour dots: When the dots sit close together, their neighbours make room as soon as an icon grows.
- Rail at the top: The same glass as on the left and right, without a second shade along the bottom.
- Sorting modules: The icon no longer appears twice while dragging.
Fixed
- Keyboard shortcuts in text fields: ⌘V, ⌘C, ⌘X and ⌘A work again, for example for the licence key.
SideGlass 1.0.2
Fixed
- Permissions in setup and settings: After macOS asks for access, for example to Notes or Reminders, the window comes back to the front instead of staying hidden behind other windows.
- Stability: Drawing the menu bar icon and loading reminders are safe against calls from other threads.
SideGlass 1.0.1
Improved
- Modules in alphabetical order: In the setup and under Settings › Subscription, each plan lists its modules alphabetically, in the app's language.
- New suggestions: On a new installation, the setup suggests Calendar, Reminders, Apple Music and Weather.
SideGlass 1.0
The first version of SideGlass: a slim rail at the edge of your screen. Move your mouse over it, and what matters opens as a card.
The rail
- Left, right or top: The rail sits at one edge of your screen, as icons or as slim coloured dots. Hovering opens a card, a click pins it, Escape closes it.
- Live in the icon: The cover of what's playing, your next event, a running build or a busy agent show right in the rail.
- Your way: Order, colours, spacing, hover delay, haptic feedback, and no menu bar icon if you like. In English and German.
Modules
- Your day: Calendar as an agenda or a month (with week numbers, weekends and Microsoft 365 accounts), Reminders, Contacts with birthdays, Notes, Weather, Clock with world times, Batteries and Calculator.
- Your services: Apple Music and Spotify, Todoist, Bear, RSS, Stocks, the system monitor, a shelf for files and an assistant using Apple's on-device model.
- For developers: A terminal with Claude Code and Codex and their status, GitHub with pull requests and comments, and Xcode Cloud with running and recent builds.
Subscription, privacy and updates
- 14 days with every module, no account and no payment details. Then Basic, Plus or Pro, monthly or yearly through Lemon Squeezy.
- Your data stays on your Mac: SideGlass only talks to the services you turn on. Access keys live in your keychain.
- Automatic updates: SideGlass checks for new versions by itself. After an update, the menu leads to these release notes once.
